Micro-Distributing offers the most comprehensive range of laboratory services available provided by the nation’s leading laboratories.    Testing is available from urine, saliva, hair, blood, and sweat samples in a wide range of drugs of abuse, alcohol, and steroids/performance enhancing drugs.

Accreditation/Licensure.  All services are provided by laboratories fully accredited, certified, and licensed by the following organizations and US agencies:

  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of the US Department of Health and Human  Services.
  • College of American Pathologist – Forensic Urine Drug Testing (CAP-FUDT)
  • Applicable Local and State Laboratory Licensure Programs

The stringent requirements to secure and maintain these credentials can be met only by adhering to the most rigorous quality control guidelines in the industry.   This includes ongoing internal review to confirm testing accuracy and procedural controls as well as regular inspections.

Test Protocol.   All laboratory based testing strictly adheres to strict custody and control procedures and a highly accurate, 2-tiered drug testing protocol:

  1. Screening Test (initial test):  a high sensitivity enzyme immunoassay (EIA) screen for the presence of commonly abused drugs.  All positive specimens receive further confirmatory testing.
  2. Confirmatory Test:  gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) or liquid chromatography/mass spectometry/mass spectometry (LC/MS/MS) is used to identify and quantify the presence of specific drugs or metabolites.

Turn-Around-Time.   Negative drug test can be reported in as little as 8 hours from time of receipt at the laboratory.   With an additional 24-48 hours, positive drug tests are confirmed.    Results are available in a variety options including online, fax, EDI integrations, and phone.

Supplies.  All the necessary supplies are provided including chain of custody forms, collection kits and shipping supplies.

Combine your instant testing program with laboratory services.  Confirming preliminary results at a certified lab combined with certified Medical Review Officer are the recommended steps to make your instant testing program legally defensible.

Urine testing, one of the most common screening methods, is an accurate and reliable way to detect casual drug use that occurred within the past 72 hours. MD offers a variety of test panels and cutoff levels in addition to the federally mandated (SAMHSA/DOT) five-drug panel.

The use of oral fluid (saliva) as a biological specimen for the detection of drugs of abuse is growing in popularity within the workplace. The increased popularity of oral fluid drug testing is due to inherent advantages over the standard urine drug test. Oral fluid specimen collection using is simple and non-invasive. Collection can occur at any time or location without embarrassment to the donor.

Hair testing for drugs of abuse is the only drug-testing method available that provides up to a 90-day drug use history. This makes hair testing an ideal solution for pre-employment and random testing protocols.   When compared with urine specimen testing, hair testing provides up to 2.5 times the number of positives and a longer detection window.

Expanded Opiates.    Standard opiate drug screening panels only detected opiates such as codeine and morphine.  Since the other opiates share structural similarities with morphine, the opiate screening reagents detect additional opiates to varying extents.   In the case of Oxycodone or Hydrocodone, most general opiate screens only detect these drugs if it is present at a very high concentration.    A  new FDA-cleared screening technology has a specific reagent that can detect Oxycodone as low as 100 ng/mL.

To help you ensure the integrity of your drug testing program Adulteration Testing is automatically conducted on all laboratory urine specimens.   Users of illicit drugs have attempted to defeat drug testing by either ingesting foreign substances, sometimes promoted as cleansing or detoxifying agents, or adding them to the urine specimen with the goal of altering the test results.  If Adulterants are detected secondary state-of-the-art testing methods will be used to confirm their presence before reporting results.
