Overview
Micro-Distributing offers the most comprehensive range of laboratory services available provided by the nation’s leading laboratories.    Testing is available from urine, saliva, hair, blood, and sweat samples in a wide range of drugs of abuse, alcohol, and steroids.   All services are provided by laboratories fully accredited, certified, and licensed by the following organizations and US agencies:
  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of the US Department of Health and Human  Services.
  • College of American Pathologist – Forensic Urine Drug Testing (CAP-FUDT)
  • Agency for Health Care Administration, Florida
  • Applicable local and state licenses
The stringent requirements to secure and maintain these above listed credentials can be met only by adhering to the most rigorous quality control guidelines in the industry.   This includes ongoing internal review to confirm testing accuracy and procedural controls as well as regular external inspections by the above listed entities.

All laboratory based testing strictly adheres to strict custody and control procedures and a highly accurate, 2-tiered drug testing protocol:
  1. Screening Test (initial test):  a high sensitivity enzyme immunoassay (EIA) screen for the presence of commonly abused drugs.  All positive specimens receive further confirmatory testing.
  2. Confirmatory Test:  gas chromatography / mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is used to identify and quantify the presence of specific drugs or metabolites.  GC/MS is considered the “gold standard” in drug testing.
Fast turn-around-time for results is available.   Negative drug test can be reported in as little as 8 hours from time of receipt at the laboratory.   With an additional 24-48 hours, positive drug tests are confirmed.    Results are available in a variety options including online, fax, download, and phone.

All the necessary supplies are provided including collection kits and shipping supplies.

Confirmation of On-Site Rapid Test
Combine your on-site rapid testing test program with laboratory services.  Confirming preliminary results at a SAMHSA certified lab combined with certified Medical Review Officer are the recommended steps to make your on-site testing program legally defensible.

MD’s on-site rapid drug testing products provide a preliminary qualitative result.   It is recommended that preliminary positive results are confirmed using a more specific alternate quantitative analytical method, such as Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS).   Results can be reported without regard to administrative cut-off levels by request.

Micro-Distributing's on-site rapid drug test devices are designed for easy transport to the lab for confirmation testing.   We have “turn-key” program designed after years of experience supporting on-site rapid drug testing programs.   All the necessary lab test, supplies, and procedure training is already set up and ready to go

Standard Urine Testing
Urine testing, one of the most common screening methods, is an accurate and reliable way to detect casual drug use that occurred within the past 72 hours. MD offers a variety of test panels and cutoff levels in addition to the federally mandated (SAMHSA/DOT) five-drug panel.

Urine testing can test for the following classes of drugs:
Analyte Screening Cutoff Level Confirmation Cutoff Level
Amphetamine  (methamphetamine) 1000 ng/mL 500 ng/mL
Cocaine Metabolite 300 ng/mL 150 ng/mL
Opiates 2000 ng/mL 2000 ng/mL
PCP 25 ng/mL 25 ng/mL
Marijuana Metabolite 50 ng/mL 15 ng/mL
Benzodiazepines 300 ng/mL 200 ng/mL
Barbiturates 300ng/mL 200 ng/mL
Methadone 300 ng/mL 200 ng/mL
Methaqualone 300 ng/mL 200 mg/mL
Propoxyphene 300 ng/mL 200 ng/mL

Oral Fluid Testing
The use of oral fluid (saliva) as a biological specimen for the detection of drugs of abuse is growing in popularity within the workplace. The increased popularity of oral fluid drug testing is due to inherent advantages over the standard urine drug test. Oral fluid specimen collection using is simple and non-invasive. Collection can occur at any time or location without embarrassment to the donor.

The specimen can be collected from the donor under direct observation, thus minimizing the potential for specimen tampering and/or adulteration. Oral fluid drug concentrations can be related to plasma free-drug concentrations and the pharmacological effects of drugs. As a result, oral fluid drug concentrations can provide information similar to that provided by plasma or blood drug concentrations.

Consideration should be given to the effect that some drugs or medical conditions have on the donor's ability to secrete oral fluid. As a result, oral fluid may not be available from all individuals at all times.

Oral fluid testing can test for the following classes of drugs:
Analyte Screening Cutoff
Level
Confirmation Cutoff
Level
Amphetamine 100 ng/mL 40 ng/mL
Methamphetamine 40 ng/mL 40 ng/mL
Cocaine 5 ng/mL 2 ng/mL
Opiates 10 ng/mL 10 ng/mL
PCP 1 ng/mL 0.5 ng/mL
Marijuana Metabolite 1 ng/mL 0.5 ng/mL

Hair Testing
Hair testing for drugs of abuse is the only drug-testing method available that provides up to a 90-day drug use history. This makes hair testing an ideal solution for pre-employment and random testing protocols.   When compared with urine specimen testing, hair testing provides up to 2.5 times the number of positives and a longer detection window

Using FDA-cleared testing reagents, this lab-based test offers the advantages of easy specimen collection and highly accurate results that meet the same reference standards as urine testing. In addition, there are no known methods for sample adulteration (hair washing will not dilute the sample). Because specimen collection can be directly observed, the risk of adulteration is even further reduced.  Hair testing is also forensically defensible.

Specialty Panels
Expanded Opiates.    Standard opiate drug screening panels only detected opiates such as codeine and morphine.  Since the other opiates share structural similarities with morphine, the opiate screening reagents detect additional opiates to varying extents.   In the case of Oxycodone or Hydrocodone, most general opiate screens only detect these drugs if it is present at a very high concentration.    A  new FDA-cleared screening technology has a specific reagent that can detect Oxycodone as low as 100 ng/mL.

The expanded opiate panel includes testing for the following:
  • Codeine
  • Oxycodone
  • Hydromorphone
  • Hydrocodone
  • Morphine
  • Oxymorphone
Ecstasy.   The  Ecstasy screen uses the same state-of-the-art technology - enzyme immunoassay (EIA) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) - that is used for other workplace drug tests.

Healthcare Professional.   Designed to detect the abuse of available narcotics and sedatives in healthcare facilities, such as hospitals, clinics, long term care facilities, pharmacies, and other healthcare organizations.    The Healthcare Professional Profile (HPP) tests for a variety of prescribed drugs that currently pass undetected in conventional testing profiles.

Additional test available include:   Alcohol, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Fentanyl, Meperidine, Tramadol, Buprenorphine and/or metabolite, Butorphanol Metabolite, Dihydrocodeine, Nalbuphine, Pentazocine, Naltrexone Metabolite, Flunitrazepam Metabolite, Ketamine Metabolite, Meprobamate, Zolpidem, Dextromethorphan Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, Fluoxetine, Sertraline, Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, Fluoxetine, Sertraline, Chlorpheniramine, Diphenhydramine, Doxylamine, Diethylpropion, Ephedrine, Fenfluramine, MDA, MDMA, Methylphenidate, Nikethamide, Phendimetrazine, Phenmetrazine, Phentermine, Phenylpropanolamine, Pseudoephedrine.

Steroids.   Detects over 20 different anabolic agents (and their metabolites) commonly used by body builders, distance runners, and other athletes.  Steroid panels also test for masking agents (eg. Probenecid) and other performance enhancing drugs including stimulants, narcotics, beta-blockers, and diuretics that may be used by athletes.

Alcohol.  offered as urine or blood test, providing accurate and reliable results

Specimen Validity Testing
To help you ensure the integrity of your drug testing program Adulteration Testing is automatically conducted on all laboratory urine specimens.   Users of illicit drugs have attempted to defeat drug testing by either ingesting foreign substances, sometimes promoted as cleansing or detoxifying agents, or adding them to the urine specimen with the goal of altering the test results.  If Adulterants are detected secondary state-of-the-art testing methods will be used to confirm their presence before reporting results.

The following compounds are tested for: Creatinine, Nitrite, pH Level, Oxidants, Specific Gravity, Glutaraldeheyde.
